He was under the impression that old versions of specs on this list remained there after new editions were added. I just looked for all specs Fast Tracked from Ecma, and only the most recent edition is shown for each. And as Caroline points out, that is also true for 29500. So, I conclude that we cannot rely on having access to any but the latest editions, even if the URL to them happens to work, for now.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Rex<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><a name="_MailEndCompose"><o:p> </o:p></a></p><span style='mso-bookmark:_MailEndCompose'></span><div><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #E1E1E1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b>From:</b> Arms, Caroline [mailto:caar@loc.gov] <br><b>Sent:</b> Tuesday, November 8, 2016 3:04 PM<br><b>To:</b> Rex Jaeschke <rex@RexJaeschke.com><br><b>Cc:</b> SC34 <e-SC34-WG4@ecma-international.org><br><b>Subject:</b> ITTF freely available standards<o:p></o:p></p></div></div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Rex,<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>FYI, I see that the front page now only shows the 2016 versions for Parts 1 and 4, but <a href="http://standards.iso.org/ittf/PubliclyAvailableStandards/c061750_ISO_IEC_29500-1_2012.zip">http://standards.iso.org/ittf/PubliclyAvailableStandards/c061750_ISO_IEC_29500-1_2012.zip</a> <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>is still alive.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Do you know how long they keep older standards accessible at the former URLs?<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> Caroline<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Caroline Arms<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Library of Congress Contractor<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Co-compiler of Sustainability of Digital Formats resource <a href="http://www.digitalpreservation.gov/formats/">http://www.digitalpreservation.gov/formats/</a><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>** Views expressed are personal and not necessarily those of the institution **<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p></div></body></html>
