Attached is a sample of DCOR1, so you can see in advance what I intend it to
look like. ITTF in Geneva saw an earlier draft and suggested some
improvements, which I have made.
I am maintaining the DR log in such a way that it will be a simple editing
process to take the closed DRs from that log and extract the relevant bits
of their responses into a Technical Corrigendum or Amendment. Specifically,
it is my intent that that process NOT involve the generation of ANY
substantive text; that is, what members see and approve in the DR log is
what will actually appear in the COR or AMD.
The JTC 1 Directives do NOT dictate the exact format of CORs. Historically,
CORs are very simple-looking documents, and, in many cases, contain no
context information. As such, I asked ITTF for permission to use a visual
approach (with color, underline and strike-through) to better illustrate the
changes. The main ITTF editor has agreed.
Basically, it is my intent to "hit the ground running" when I get back home
from the June meeting in Copenhagen, so I can produce the final drafts in a
short time, and with NO risk of their containing new/different text, thereby
increasing the members' comfort level during the ballot process.
Regards,
Rex
