Hi -

This http://openxmldeveloper.org/attachment/2601.ashx may be out of date but then the link below is to a 2008 document of around the same time.

In terms of a part of the content referenced in the report below there's mention of UIA, and in SC 35 we are working on a new multi-part standard 13066 which is basically developing a 'common taxonomy' of API's for Assistive Technology developers spanning the major accessibility platforms; Windows UIA (which is referenced in your link below) which is actually what 13066-2 is all about, Linux, Java, Mac OS, ... If you need more info about 13066 please feel free to ping me direct and for more on UIA see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/bb735024.aspx.

But just thinking out loud though, a new OXML Accessibility Technical Report might be an interesting effort for WG 4 to entertain if there's bandwidth left in the group. Certainly with revision of key accessibility legislation in the EU and the US right now, anything to help people with special needs work with OXML cannot be a bad thing.

Hi Jesper,

What ever happened to the "you shoot it, you carry it home" rule? :)

But seriously, there were many such documents written about DIS 29500 in 2007. Is there a reason you're concerned about this particular one? It seems to me that the authors of it would be the best persons to ask about its status, although perhaps somebody from Canada could let us know if they recall any details.

Hello all,

I have been looking a bit into accessibility-support in OOXML, and I found this paper from beginning of 2008 that evaluates the guideline document that was later incorporated into OOXML.

Can anyone give a status of this document - specifically if all points have been dealt with? A cursory glance over the annex in 29500 reveals that quite a few of the points of critique has been incorporated into the annex.

I am interested in the current/ongoing status of this document - can anyone help here? Maybe one of the Canadian experts, that were the prime motivator behind this in Geneva?
