A couple of touch-ups for the minutes:

In 6.2, my notes indicate that Michael Brauer reported on the status of ODF v1.2.

In 6.3.2, I would change to the beginning of the second sentence from "If it planned that a first Committee Draft ..." to "The road-map anticipates that a first Committee Draft ... ."

ODF 1.2 PAS SCHEDULE SPECULATION

With regard to schedule speculation, my spreadsheet for tracking progress of ODF 1.2 has the following estimated milestones, assuming that the ODF 1.2 Candidate Standard Public Review is the full 60 days and there are no set-backs:

Approval of ODF 1.2 as an OASIS Standard by the end of July, 2011.

Start of JTC1 PAS 5-month ballot, September 1, 2011 (with allowance of August for windage, submission, etc.).

End of JTC1 PAS 5-month ballot, January 31, 2012

where, if a BRM is required, there will need to be a subsequent period of time for preparation of comment dispositions, review of proposed dispositions by NBs, and conduct of a BRM.

I don't claim a crystal ball, although it would appear that a BRM would be in late Spring as you surmise. The question would be whether it could be orchestrated to coincide with a June 2012 Face-to-Face meeting in Brasilia.

It may seem premature to be thinking about a face-to-face meeting in 2012, given that we do not yet know exactly when ODF v1.2 will be submitted for PAS transposition. However, WG 6 experts should bear in mind the distinct possibility that a DIS ballot on the PAS submission of ODF v1.2 would result in the need for a Ballot Resolution Meeting (BRM), probably no earlier than February 2012 but most likely in the first half of the year. Depending upon the timing and location of a BRM, we may have to consider arranging two face-to-face meetings in fairly quick succession.

This is probably as much speculation as is needed for now, but I’m happy to receive your views, if any.
