Dear colleagues,
As promised, I created another personal draft of OPC,
available at
https://1drv.ms/w/s!An5Z79wj5AZBgfBQpNdousMSjllMQg
when I reported last time, I used D3.2 and then
incorporated OPC Core Properties rewrite
(https://1drv.ms/w/s!An5Z79wj5AZBgetAeukVNMdev5h9bA)
slightly adjusted normative references, and
removed a redundant paragraph about authority,
fragment, path, pchar, etc.
Since then, I did quite a few editorial changes to digital signatures
and "Terms and Definitions". Here is a summary of changes.
- Deleted "id" and "unique identifier", since they are
not used.
- Deleted unnecessary terms such as "access style",
"communication style", "layout style", "local
access", "networked access", "pipe", "random
access", "sequential delivery", "simultaneous
creation and consumption", and "streaming creation"
from Clause 3. Most of them continue to be used in
Informative Appendix F.
- Dropped "format consumer", "format designer",
"format producer", but rather introduced "derived
format".
- Revised the RNG schema for digital signatures based
on "XML Security RELAX NG schemas".
- Changed the algorithm namespace for relationship
transform so that MS Word becomes conformant.
- Made clear that the use of SignatureInfoV1 by MS
Word in application-defined Object elements is
conformant. (See
http://mailman.vse.cz/pipermail/sc34wg4/2014-February/003114.html)
- Deleted the subclause "Modifications to the XML
Digital Signature Specification", since it is
neither an informative summary nor a complete list
of modifications. Rather, it was a mixture. I thus
moved all changes in this subclause to somewhere
else in 12.4 and then entirely deleted this
subclause.
I am still unhappy the way streaming consumption is
defined and used. I think that the current definition
is meaningless since "processing" is not defined.
Perhaps, this concept should have been defined only in
the XPS specifcation. But the XPS specifcation is
already finalized and references OPC. So, I did not
do anything.
Regards,
Makoto
