GoToMeeting participant limit

Dear members of WG 6

 

I have (perhaps unwisely) chosen to use the Citrix GoToMeeting tool for our
first teleconference call on 2010-03-17. This tool has a limit of 26
participants. We currently have a total membership of 31, so there is a risk
that we might exceed the participation limit. 

 

I could have chosen a different tool. The Citrix GoToWebinar tool operates
very similarly to the GoToMeeting tool, but doesn't limit the number of
participants - but this is more difficult to set up and I would prefer to
leave the existing meeting in place unless there is a clear requirement to
handle a larger number of participants than 26.

 

I will review the number of acceptances on Monday and decide then whether or
not to switch to the GoToWebinar alternative. If I do, this will involve
cancelling the GoToMeeting teleconference just announced and setting up a
new teleconference using GoToWebinar. I apologise in advance for any
inconvenience that this may cause.

 

I would be grateful if you could therefore be prompt in returning your
responses to the GoToMeeting invitation (I have already received some).

 

After this first teleconference meeting I will have a better feel for
expected levels of participation in such meetings, and will, I hope, get it
right next time.
